    Elena Markova

Cash Management Manager -> Project Manager, Operational Excellence -> Project Manager, IT Finance

After spending 5 years at her previous organization, Elena knew she was ready for a new challenge.  She joined BIC during the height of the pandemic and her role on the Cash Management team was focused on centralizing automating and optimizing processes for the business. Following successful completion of this work and getting involved on several Finance projects, Elena felt confident in telling her manager about her ambitions to take on more. “It’s all about being at the right place at the right time and being able to advocate for yourself. I had built my personal brand internally, so people were familiar with my work. It made my next steps clear and very easy to transition,” says Elena.

    Georgi Kekov

General Ledger Accountant -> Senior General Ledger Accountant -> Associate Manager, General Ledger -> Junior Financial Controller

When the local recruitment team reached out to Georgi about an opening on the BIC Sofia team, he knew that this would be his opportunity to make a real impact with his work. "I was already familiar with the BIC brand, and knew I wanted to be in a place where I felt secure. With all the great work happening in BIC Sofia at the time, it was the right move for me,” he shared. After working closely with the local finance team in Sweden, a promotion brought increased responsibility for the DACH, UK&K and Nordics regions, where he was able to learn different processes, build new relationships and grow his already strong track record for success. In just a few weeks, Georgi will take on his next Team BIC adventure – relocating to Sweden for a Junior Financial Controller position! You never know where a career with BIC will take you...

    Viktoria Milanova

Customer Service Associate, Orders and Requests -> Specialist, Reporting Factory

Returning to Sofia after her studies, Viktoria joined the BIC Sofia team knowing that this would be an opportunity to use both her business degree and knowledge of the German language to grow in her career. Having joined as a Customer Service Associate, she was able to work on a workflow automation project to support the finance team. After showing off some impressive SharePoint skills in addition to her customer-focused approach to work, participation in a rotational program to expand her BIC knowledge seemed like the right next step. “It’s important to recognize that your interest can change, and you can want to be challenged in new ways. I’m someone who wants to continuously take on new challenges and BIC has allowed for me to do exactly that with my career,” reflects Viktoria.

    Mariela Savcheva

Customer Service Associate, Orders and Requests -> Accounts Receivable -> Accounts Payable

When a sports injury led professional tennis player Mariela to end her 14-year career, she knew it was time to step out of her comfort zone and try her hand in the corporate world. Joining the team as a Customer Service Associate, Mariela has experienced the growth of our business firsthand as the team she supported in Spain grew from 25 to 100 people quickly. With this growth came exciting new opportunities to try something new – finance! “The team I was working with helped me realize where I wanted to go in my career. Once you start to learn about something and the pieces come together, you realize you want to do more of it – it's like a domino effect,” she shares. After working on the Accounts Receivable team, where she helped internal teams process payments, Mariela now supports the other side of the business – Accounts Payable. This full circle move has helped her round out her skillset.
