JOB SUMMARY

 

 

The Schools & Tenders Business Development Specialist develops BIC's presence in education and institutional procurement channels across Morocco.

The role builds direct relationships with schools, education stakeholders and procurement decision makers, presents the value of BIC stationery products and supports national school engagement initiatives.

It coordinates with Sales, distributors and stationers to translate demand into product availability and effective commercial follow-through.

The position also monitors and qualifies public, semi-public, private and association-led tenders, supports product-to-specification matching and ensures timely access to technical and compliance documentation, with disciplined field execution and strict adherence to BIC's ethical and procurement standards.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS

 

  1. School Channel Development & Educational Partnerships

 

  • Build and execute a national school coverage plan, segmenting priority schools and education networks by potential, geography and influence
  • Deploy the national School Engagement Program in schools not yet covered through value-added educational initiatives and policy-compliant product information
  • Support the growth of the existing School Program: maintain active relationships with participating schools, follow annual renewal, deliver program content and measure engagement quality year over year
  • Verify, school by school, whether BIC references appear on school supply lists and document presence or absence by segment and by education level and report it year on year
  • Capture needs, usage patterns and competitor activity during all school visits, and feed insights to Sales and Marketing
  • Conduct structured field visits with school leaders, administrators, teachers, purchasing teams and other relevant decision makers
  • Present BIC stationery solutions, product benefits, quality and safety credentials, and suitability for classroom and learning needs

 

  1. Public institutions partnerships

 

  • Develop and maintain institutional relationships with the Ministry of Education, AREFs and Délégations Provinciales in priority cities, positioning BIC as a credible educational partner
  • Monitor education policy developments, decisions changes and national school supply directives, to support BIC knowledge and commercial implications
  • Support in building partnerships with public education bodies through educational programs, donations, school equipment initiatives in full compliance with BIC's anti-bribery policy and Moroccan public procurement rules

 

 

  1. Demand Conversion & Availability Coordination

 

  • Map how priority schools source stationery and identify the distributors, stationers or office-supply partners involved
  • Coordinate with Sales and customers to anticipate demand and improve availability of priority BIC products, especially ahead of Back-to-School
  • Develop and tailor a territory-specific School List Booklet for each stationery sales representative, consolidating the schools, supply lists, priority BIC references and recommended follow-up actions within their assigned territory
  • Identify stock or distribution gaps, escalate risks early and track corrective actions while respecting ownership of pricing and customer negotiations

 

  1. Tender Monitoring & Business Development

 

  • Continuously monitor public, semi-public, private and association-led tender sources; qualify opportunities by portfolio fit, value, timing, eligibility and probability of success
  • Share timely alerts and recommended BIC references; match specifications and coordinate technical sheets, samples, certificates and approved documentation for customers and sales teams

 

  1. Institutional Engagement & Bid Support

 

  • Visit institutional buyers and specifiers to present BIC products and benefits, understand requirements and support informed, compliant product consideration
  • Support bid preparation, clarification and post-award handover, while commercial terms and formal submissions remain with the accountable commercial owner

 

  1. Performance Management, Collaboration & Compliance

 

  • Maintain complete and accurate CRM or tracking records covering visits, stakeholders, opportunities, actions and next steps
  • Track agreed KPIs and provide regular reporting, insights, forecasts, risks and corrective-action recommendations
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Finance and Legal to ensure aligned and timely execution
  • Represent BIC professionally and comply with applicable laws, tender rules, anti-bribery requirements, competition principles and internal policies

 

Key Performance Indicators / Key Figures

 

  • School list presence: number and share of targeted schools including BIC products with YoY evolution
  • Segment penetration depth: average number of BIC segments present per school list, vs. prior year
  • Coverage and visit frequency across the prioritized national school universe
  • Renewal rate of participating schools in the national school program and their qualification (nb of students, teachers)
  • New school partnerships signed and School Engagement Program activations delivered
  • Active partnerships with public education institutions (Ministry, AREF, Délégations) and initiatives/sales delivered
  • Availability of priority BIC references across stationers and distributors serving targeted schools
  • Tender pipeline value, early-identification rate, qualification quality, participation and win rate with zero compliance incidents
  • Incremental school and tender sales contribution, measured jointly with the responsible commercial teams
  • On-time technical documentation, CRM completeness, reporting accuracy and timely closure of agreed actions

 

Candidate Profile: Qualifications / Technical Skills

 

  1. Qualifications and Experience

 

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Commerce, Public Procurement or an equivalent field

Experience

3 to 5 years of experience in field business development, institutional sales, education partnerships, tenders, B2B sales or a comparable influence-based role. Experience in FMCG, stationery, education, office supplies, pharmaceuticals or public procurement is an asset

Languages

Fluent Arabic and French, written and spoken; professional working proficiency in English

Tools

Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable with CRM tools, opportunity trackers, tender portals and digital procurement platforms

Tender / Compliance

Working knowledge of tender processes, technical specifications, bid documentation and ethical engagement with public and private stakeholders
