The Production Specialist will serve as an ultimate team player within the BIC Charlotte facility Packaging operation. The Production Specialist will develop, prepare, and maintain production schedules to achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and time objectives. Coordinate with internal teams to assess gaps in work orders, allocations, and timing of materials available, and daily hot list items. The Production Specialist will also assist in the development, implementation and follow-up of productivity systems and strategies.
Main Responsibilities

Create Production Sequencing Weekly Schedule for Packaging production

Work closely with internal teams (Planners, Shift Assistants, Inventory Manager, PIC) on gaps of work orders by tooling, timing of bulk/packaging, root cause requests for timely availability, and opportunities to bring bulk from outside locations.

Conduct daily tasks such as:

Review work orders for the day and assign status to orders, adjust production sequencing based on allocation, availability, and efficiency of tooling per line

Make requests to PIC team for expedite packaging materials

Meet with Receiving Department on bulk arrivals.

Request Planners to adjust, create and remove work orders from JDE in a timely manner
-
Attend DDS Management Meeting to deliver metrics and any opportunities to better align with expectations

Track custom orders in partnership with the Planning team and create best practices to get them completed and delivered without penalty.

Track all new SKU’s to identify line placement options
-
Evaluate JDE instructions and have adjusted as needed to ensure team success

Partner with PED team to in adjusting instructions to be clear, update pictures, and SKU’s with subs

Conduct Safety Walk one time per day to identify areas of opportunity in a proactive approach to safety

Support production by scheduling attainable deliveries each week in line with attainment goals

Ensure all customer orders are completed in Full (Floating Cases)

Follow up with any items on hold and relay any non-conformances to Supply Planners and PIC team.

Train Shift Assistants and Supervisors in scheduling functions, sequencing, and tools associated with planning and performance metrics

Assist with the creation of standard of work instructions, process monitors, and productivity systems (utilizing Alteryx software)

Report deliverables to Production Manager and Senior Manager, Operations

Identify production needs for bulk and packaging materials through communication with the PIC and Planning Teams and coordinate movement of materials through the S6 process

Schedule and track all teardowns and reworks, and identify and communicate any delays with bulk or packaging

Enter safety incidents into EHS system

Facilitate meetings with Supply Planning and the Production team bi-weekly

Accountable for allocation by cross-function engagement, schedule optimization, shift status and what orders are being pulled, labor analysis, production reports, and overall communication to quality managers around QC locks and holds
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2-4 years of production planning experience

Must have demonstrated ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
-
Must be hands on and customer service oriented; understand customer demands, customer service level expectations and execute to those demands with a sense of urgency

Prefer experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and JDE (JD Edwards), or other ERP applications, and Alteryx software
-
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook and Word
-
Ability to display attention to detail and work well with a team-based environment

Have knowledge of general safety policies sand process

- Annual Base Salary at USD 75,000
