The Category Marketing Director (Blade Excellence) will be reporting to the Shavers category leader and will be leading the end-to-end development and execution of category strategy, from insights to innovation and market activation, to unlock sustainable and profitable growth across regions. 

This position is based in Clichy and requires regular travel. 

 

Category Growth Strategy  

  • Develop profitable category growth strategies based on consumer insights and market situation analysis
  • Define key category growth priorities across markets
  • Drive effective translation of the category strategy through defining key activities  
  • Secure full x-functional support and alignment at local level (local Country GM, marketing and sales organization) 

 

Category / Region Growth Plans 

  • Drive effective translation of category strategies into locally relevant and executable market initiatives per region
  • Support Category Leader on defining of mid & long-term structural category P&L (growth, profitability) and provide guidance to regions
  • Define A&P allocation and investment needed in alignment with regional management and CSO
  • P&L accountability (Vol/NS to Gross Margin – after Brand Support) 

 

Portfolio Management 

  • Lead portfolio architecture across SKUs, price- pack architecture, and margin structure
  • Define the go to market needs per region/channel/consumer (cube)
  • Lead pricing strategy definition of portfolio segments including portfolio mix, competitive activity, and costs development. 
  • Work closely with Sales Excellence on Revenue Growth Management, -Shelf recommendation and Perfect Store guidelines, or Customer sell-in stories
  • Maintain a healthy portfolio by constantly challenging the tail and low profit SKUs 

 

Innovation & Renovation Programs 

  • Translate consumer needs into strong proposition development, renovation, and innovation
  • Build a rolling 3-year innovation/renovation pipeline (4-2-1)
  • Establish a structured, cross-functional innovation/renovation process
  • Supervise / coordinate all other innovation/renovation in markets
  • Ensure effective launch of (Big Bet) innovation/renovation in local markets 

 

Animation Programs  

  • Define the relevant animation programs by portfolio segment and geography
  • Manage the E2E animation program in close collaboration with local teams
  • Category / Brand Visualization, Communication & Activation 
  • Work hand in hand with Brand team to deploy brand equity in a consistent way in shavers category
  • Define brand architecture system and sub-brand fundamentals for male / female portfolios
  • Define category support allocation for brand and advertising across portfolio segments and regions following aligned growth plans and business priorities
  • Define category advertising and communication strategy for Europe and develop winning creative and communication programs
  • Develop central communication bundles to land across regions with clear guidelines for local markets to implement with excellence
  • Develop full support bundles for Big Bet innovation including trade and POS execution guidelines 

 

People & Culture 

  • Foster an environment of collaboration within category, regions and other parts of the organization
  • Work to build capabilities within the category marketing team of shavers 

 

Experience and Skills 

  • Proven marketing leadership experience in local country and category or global/regional teams with P&L responsibilities.
  • Growth strategies and portfolio management experience
  • Multi-markets, matrixial organizations experience
  • Strong track record of leading through influence 
  • Ability to operate both strategically and pragmatically, bridging long-term vision and in-market execution.
  • Deep understanding of brand building and operational marketing
  • Deep understanding of innovation processes and supply chain trade-offs 

 

Languages 

  • Fluent in English is a must
  • Any other language is advantage: French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese
