The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, securing, and optimizing BIC’s global network and infrastructure environment. This role supports enterprise networking, data center operations, infrastructure performance, and IT security initiatives across multiple regions and facilities.

The individual will collaborate closely with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, managed service providers, and external vendors to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure services that support critical business operations. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, analytical problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues in complex global environments.

This position plays an important role in supporting infrastructure modernization, business continuity, operational excellence, and enterprise security while contributing to the continuous improvement of BIC’s global technology landscape.

Primary Objectives

  • Design, maintain, and optimize global network and infrastructure environments to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Support enterprise-wide networking, data center, and infrastructure initiatives across global facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate complex networking and infrastructure issues to minimize operational disruption.
  • Strengthen infrastructure security, resilience, and operational reliability.
  • Collaborate with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver stable and scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Contribute to infrastructure strategy, standards, operational governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and infrastructure modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities  

Network and Infrastructure Operations

  • Design, configure, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise networking and infrastructure solutions across global environments.
  • Support network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless environments, VPNs, LAN/WAN technologies, and SAN solutions.
  • Monitor network and infrastructure performance to proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and service improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain system stability, availability, and operational performance for mission-critical infrastructure services.
  • Participate in infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects for existing and new facilities.

Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution

  • Troubleshoot complex networking, connectivity, server, and infrastructure-related issues across multiple sites and regions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce recurring incidents and improve reliability.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve critical technical problems.
  • Support escalation management and participate in major incident response activities.
  • Document technical issues, remediation actions, and operational procedures.

IT Security and Infrastructure Protection

  • Support enterprise security operations including firewall administration, VPN management, endpoint protection, and identity management.
  • Participate in remediation efforts related to vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning activities.
  • Help maintain secure network configurations and infrastructure standards aligned with enterprise security requirements.

Infrastructure Strategy and Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the development of networking and infrastructure standards, roadmaps, procedures, and operational best practices.
  • Provide technical input into infrastructure planning, budgeting, vendor evaluations, and project timelines.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance infrastructure scalability, performance, resilience, and operational efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, infrastructure trends, and industry best practices.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

  • Collaborate with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, managed service providers, and external consultants.
  • Support mentoring, knowledge transfer, and technical guidance activities within the infrastructure team.
  • Assist with cross-functional initiatives that support enterprise technology transformation and operational excellence.

 

Success Measures

  • Global network and infrastructure services maintain high levels of uptime, reliability, and performance.
  • Infrastructure incidents and outages are resolved efficiently with minimal business disruption.
  • Security vulnerabilities and operational risks are identified and mitigated proactively.
  • Infrastructure projects and upgrades are delivered successfully and aligned with operational standards.
  • Monitoring, documentation, and operational processes support efficient and scalable infrastructure management.
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities remain effective and continuously improved.
  • Strong collaboration is maintained across internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise networking and infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco networking technologies including routers, switches, IOS, and Nexus platforms.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, VPN technologies, LAN/WAN environments, wireless networking, and SAN solutions.
  • Experience supporting VMware virtualization environments and data center infrastructure technologies.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles including endpoint protection, authentication, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in global multi-site environments.
  • Open to travel globally up to 10% of the time
