The AS/RS Command Center Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and confirming the system is maintained to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe storage and retrieval of inventory to complete customer orders. The operator is responsible for identifying and coordinating tasks supporting all employees that operate and support the AS/RS mini load system. This role requires attention to detail, a basic understanding of automation, and the ability to troubleshoot simple issues and escalate as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Monitor and operate the mini load system, including control stations and human machine interface (HMI) screens.
· Maintain a constant flow of work for all production operators while proactively addressing potential issues to prevent customer impact.
· Manage multiple systems at one time and provide decisive, proactive leadership. These systems include WMS (Warehouse Management System); WCS (Warehouse Control System); SCADA Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and various operational dashboards.
· Perform routine checks and lead autonomous maintenance initiative with support of maintenance team.
· Lead training and development initiatives for the AS/RS for staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
· Act as a liaison between staff and leadership, providing updates on operational challenges and workforce needs.
· Partner with area leadership and wave planner to ensure effective and efficient workflow.
· Ensure system is clean, organized, and compliant with safety and operational standards.
· Maintain working knowledge of customer priorities, requirements and compliance guidelines.
· Develop and maintain effective communication with team members and leadership.
Qualifications:
Required:
· High School diploma / GED
· Ability to work in a team-based, fast paced, feedback friendly environment.
· Strong work ethic and a sense of urgency
· Willingness or current certification in the operation of warehouse equipment, including
forklift.
· Good oral and written communication skills.
· Availability to work OT, various shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
· High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to work and stand for full shift duration.
· Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly throughout operation shift.
Preferred:
· Working knowledge of Manhattan WMS (PKMS)
· Previous experience with warehouse automation systems
· Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
· Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting tools
