The Role:

  • The role is responsible for identifying, validating, and scaling new geographic opportunities, developing market-entry strategies, and defining the portfolio, and working hand in hand with the regional commercial entity to understand the RTM model needed to win. The role will report to Global Category Leader - Shavers.
  • The role will define “where to play” and “how to win” strategies through deep country and local consumer understanding, portfolio prioritization, and will lead the specific projects / programs identified to win in these geographies. In addition, the position needs to work hand in hand with the manufacturing teams to define the best manufacturing footprint to win in these regions.
  • The position acts as the architect of market expansion, transforming white-space opportunities into scalable businesses.
  • The role will have an initial focus on priority growth markets across Africa and Asia, while remaining responsible for identifying and assessing further geographic opportunities globally.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Market Opportunity & Attractiveness             

  • Identify and prioritize new geographic markets and growth opportunities.
  • Assess market attractiveness, competitive dynamics, consumer trends, and route-to-market options.
  • Build robust business cases and investment recommendations.
  • Develop market-entry strategies for white-space and early-stage regions.

 

Portfolio Strategy

  • Develop region-specific portfolio recommendations.
  • Identify hero products, innovation opportunities, and portfolio gaps.
  • Optimize product mix based on consumer needs, profitability, and market potential.
  • Partner with innovation and marketing teams to shape future pipelines.

 

Consumer & Market Insights

  • Lead consumer understanding and insight generation.
  • Translate consumer, shopper, and customer insights into actionable growth strategies.
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative research to uncover unmet needs.
  • Monitor emerging trends and changing consumer behaviors.

 

Cross-Functional Project Leadership

  • Lead projects across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Innovation, and Operations.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and align resources behind strategic initiatives.
  • Lead Manufacturing Footprint projects (what to produce where to be competitive)

 

Program Launch & Support    

  • Define launch programs
  • Develop in strong collaboration with local Marketing team communication assets
  • Follow through launch and measure performance as well as to keep support initiatives to sustain growth ambition

 

People & Culture            

  • Foster an environment of collaboration within category and the regions under scope

 

 

Requirements:

  • Proven marketing leadership experience in a local country with P&L accountability; category or global/regional teams are preferred but not a must
  • Growth and portfolio strategy experience
  • Analytical rigor
  • Multi-markets, matrixial organizations experience
  • Strong track record of leading through influence
  • Ability to operate both strategically and pragmatically, bridging long-term vision and in-market execution
  • Ability to take informed decisions fast in a pragmatic manner
  • Deep understanding of operational marketing
  • Deep understanding of innovation processes and supply chain trade-offs
  • Fluency in English is a must. Any other language is a plus
