JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

The Team Lead Cartridge/Extrusion Operation will oversee the day-to-day running of the Refill and Extrusion section responsible for producing pen plastic components.

The role involves supervising the 4MS, ensuring efficient production, maintaining quality standards, monitoring mold performance, and driving continuous improvement in molding processes.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Production Oversight

 

  • Supervise and coordinate daily molding operations to meet production targets.
  • Ensure all molding machines are properly set, calibrated, and functioning efficiently.
  • Monitor production output, cycle times, and scrap rates; implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Ensure that molds are installed, tested, and running according to specifications.

 

Team Leadership

 

  • Lead, train, and supervise all Refill and Extrusion  machines shift  Supervisors, operators and technicians.
  • Plan shift schedules, assign tasks, and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Enforce operational discipline, safety practices, and quality standards.

 

Quality Control & Process Optimization

 

  • Inspect pen components to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Identify defects, troubleshoot process issues, and resolve quality deviations promptly.
  • Work with the quality control team and maintenance team to implement corrective and preventive actions.

 

Reporting & Documentation

 

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of production performance, downtime, and material usage.
  • Track and communicate any operational risks, shortages, or constraints.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Education & Experience

 

  • HND or Bachelor's degree in any Engineering field.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in writing instruments or plastics manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory or team lead experience.

 

Technical Skills

 

  • Strong understanding of assembly machines and processes.
  • Good understanding of quality standards in plastics manufacturing.

 

Soft Skills

 

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Good record-keeping and reporting ability.
