Job Purpose

Responsible for monitoring and controlling Import Operations to ensure timely deliveries to the plant, full compliance with customs and legal requirements, and effective cost control. The role ensures proper administration of the IMMEX program, coordination with logistics suppliers, and support to Import & Export operations in line with company service level, compliance, and budget targets.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor and control Bills of Expenses from logistics suppliers, validating correct rates and ensuring expenses remain within approved budget.
  • Manage the full payment cycle (POs and invoices) for logistics vendors, ensuring timely processing in the system.
  • Coordinate import processes for raw materials, assets, samples, and other materials, ensuring full compliance with legal, customs, and trade requirements.
  • Apply correct trade agreements, certificates of origin, preferential tariffs, Incoterms, and customs classifications.
  • Coordinate import logistics with brokers, carriers, forwarders, including shipment tracking and expediting (imports and domestic), ensuring transit time, shipment security, and CTPAT compliance.
  • Support the administration of the IMMEX program, including coordination with consultants and internal/external audits.
  • Supervise and track KPIs related to Import & Export operations within the organization and the COE, ensuring documentation accuracy and record retention.
  • Support and coordinate special projects, such as plant expansion, transfer of machines, molds, and production lines, acting as the main point of contact from origin to destination.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Systems, contributing to CO₂ reduction initiatives and continuous improvement aligned with the BIC UP strategy.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.

Required Experience & Knowledge

  • 2–3 years of experience in an Import & Export operation.
  • Hands-on experience with IMMEX and IVA / IEPS certifications.
  • Practical experience applying international trade agreements and validating Certificates of Origin.
  • Experience coordinating with brokers, carriers, forwarders, and logistics vendors.
  • Strong Excel skills for tracking, analysis, and operational follow-up.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar).

Languages

  • Intermediate English (conversational and technical) required for regular calls with international teams and COE meetings.

  • High attention to detail, discipline, and process orientation.
  • Effective communication and service-oriented mindset.
  • Analytical thinking with cost and compliance focus.
