Role Overview
This role specializes in Planning Systems and plays a crucial role in shaping and managing IT solutions that support planning and forecasting functions across the organization. The primary responsibility is to design the architecture for planning systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and seamless integration with other enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate will create scalable, flexible, and robust system designs that support the organization’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture Design

Create the overall structure of planning systems, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.

Define component interactions, select appropriate technologies, and design scalable, flexible, and reliable frameworks.
Requirements Analysis and Specification

Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand and document requirements across supply chain management, financial forecasting, and production scheduling.

Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and system designs.
Integration and Interoperability

Develop strategies to integrate planning systems with other enterprise applications.

Ensure smooth data flow and cross-platform connectivity to support comprehensive planning efforts.
System Performance Optimization

Implement best practices for configuration, data management, and architecture.

Continuously optimize system performance to support complex planning tasks efficiently and reliably.
Technology Evaluation and Implementation

Assess and recommend tools, platforms, and emerging technologies that enhance planning capabilities.

Stay current with industry trends to ensure solutions leverage the latest advancements.
Documentation and Communication

Develop and maintain documentation for system designs, configurations, and integrations.

Communicate architectural decisions and project updates through reports and presentations to key stakeholders.
System and Process Support

Partner with business analysts to support successful implementation and user adoption.

Provide ongoing support and issue resolution to optimize system use and reliability.
Continuous Improvement

Regularly assess and refine planning systems to meet evolving business needs and technological advancements.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in planning system design and performance.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Architect (CISA), TOGAF, or planning system certifications (e.g., SAP Integrated Business Planning – IBP).

Minimum of 8 years of experience as a SQL expert, System Designer, Business Analyst, or similar role, with a focus on supply chain or integrated business planning.

Fluent in English; Spanish preferred. Experience working in a multicultural environment.

Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including demand forecasting, inventory management, production planning, and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) within an IT transformation environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; familiarity with statistical modeling and forecasting techniques is a plus.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to collaborate across IT, Supply Chain, and Finance functions.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Hands-on experience with supply chain systems preferred.

Blue Yonder experience and/or certification is a plus.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
