The position of Accountant, Accounts Receivable is part of the Order to Cash service line of Group BIC Services, in Sofia, Bulgaria. This position has to ensure timely and effective Accounts Receivable management in line with internal procedures: 

  • Responsible for daily processing of incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures 

  • Responsible for daily follows up with customers to ensure effective and on-time cash collection of receivables 

 

The role requires understanding of Accounts Receivable processes and high engagement with various departments & stakeholders. 

 

Key accountabilities:

 

  • Process payments: perform payment booking with invoice matching, customer deductions and/or advances 

  • Cash collection: regular follow-up (reminders, phone calls) with customers/Commercial Unit to ensure effective and on-time collection of receivables 

  • Accounts reconciliation 

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness in accounts receivable & collection processes 

  • Participating in local meetings 

  • Act as key subject matter expert regarding specific country processes & customer specifics. 

  • Contact customers on appropriate communication channel (phone, e-mail, chat, …) as needed 

  • Continuous improvement: identify, propose and implement development activities to improve performance on a continuous basis 

 

Knowledge, skills and experience:

 

  • High school degree (University education is desired)  
  • 1-2 year of experience in a Shared Services environment for a global company is required 
  • 3-5 year of experience for a global company is a plus  
  • Advanced English and Italian
  • Customer service orientation and attention to details  
  • Ability to work in teams, with deadlines and time pressure
