Under the direct oversight of the Associate Manager, the Senior Accountant strategically manages a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries. This role involves delivering critical financial insights to a variety of stakeholders and ensuring meticulous accounting management for industrial entities. The Senior Accountant serves as a vital liaison, facilitating communication with both internal contacts (including controllers, central departments, and the consolidation department) and external contacts (such statutory auditors).

The Senior Accountant possesses an in-depth understanding of the accounting and tax regulations applicable to each subsidiary within their portfolio, encompassing local GAAP, IFRS, and tax compliance. He rigorously verifies the accurate recording of expenses and income, ensuring adherence to all accounting and tax deadlines, including monthly closings, group reporting (both monthly and quarterly), and the submission of monthly and annual tax returns.

His responsibilities include diligent monitoring and substantiation of all accounts, providing expert advisory services to clients on accounting impacts, and acting as a key point of reference. The Senior Accountant is instrumental in preparing financial statements and supporting both internal and external audits. Additionally, they participate in essential financial processes, including reporting, budgeting, consolidation, and controlling.

The Senior Accountant must be able to work independently, take the initiative and manage his or her time effectively to meet deadlines and accounting obligations.

He must be able to communicate effectively with the company's various departments (plant, sales, HR, logistics, etc.).

Their responsibilities are wide range, requiring a combination of technical, analytical and organizational skills.

Key accountabilities:

Within the Finance Service Line, the Senior Accountant G/L HQ duties includes for each of the entities / cost centers she/ he will be in charge of:

Recording transactions of expenses, revenues and accruals in JDE according to Group rules (IFRS) and local GAAP of relevant entity

Loading of monthly group reporting in HFM

Reinvoicing, recording and reconciling of intercompany transactions

Participation to all group financial process and respect of group reporting and consolidation deadlines (reporting, budget, consolidation)

responsibility for the monitoring, analysis and the justification of all accounts under own scope, as well as clearing of suspense accounts.

Accountable for the effective delivery of General Accounting processes, data accuracy in line with established SLAs for the Finance function.

Deliver to agreed SLA’s regarding time and accuracy, including respect closing deadlines and quality level

Contribute to the production of timely, accurate financial statements and reports; ensure accurate cutoffs, timely account reconciliation

Assist with monthly and yearly tax declaration filing

Checking payroll consistency

Produce the French Statement : Laisse fiscal (tax return package)

Tax audit preparation if any need.

Fixed assets management following group and statutory rules

Inventory entries posting / Inventory checks

Assist local Finance teams

Management of operations on foreign currency accounts (FX)

Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures

Participate in or lead GBS improvement projects

Support other team members

Knowledge, skills and experience:

Accounting Degree

Minimum 7 years in a similar function (General Ledger Accounting) / 5 years in a position with similar responsibilities

Strong accounting knowledge

Comfortable with IT environment (Excel expertise a must)

Knowledge of JDE (Accounting and Reporting) would be appreciated / Blackline

Hyperion (Consolidation) a plus
English & French language imperative
