In this role you’ll get to:
- Work with sales team to ensure that they have the correct tools on an operational level in order.
- Have status meetings in place with agencies in order to ensure that promotions are within timeframe, within budget.
- Have monthly marketing meetings to ensure that there is consensus on the point of sales, etc.
- Supply sales team with support by attending meetings, seeing customers, coming up with store specific promotions.
- Develop a comprehensive Marketing Plan to achieve the Sales objective set.
- Compile marketing campaign based on approved agency pitch and marketing plan objectives.
- Launch new products timeously and enter new segments that provide growth opportunities.
- Research market to see if proposed new products are viable. Decide on products to be launched.
- Develop new packaging for new products as and when applicable.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Southern and East African African marketplace and manage the Distributor marketing effort through the management of the CEA Area Business Manager.
- Thorough research will be done in order to better understand the marketplace. Constant monitoring of IRI reports.
- Management of Marketing and communicating strategy. Including media relations.
- Making sure the Marketing strategy is in line with BIC's visions and values in order to meet set objectives.
- Keep media informed of new innovation and products and community initiatives to ensure maximum PR coverage.
- Management of advertising agencies and external suppliers. Positive relationships are maintained with advertising agencies and external suppliers to ensure the highest level of performance.
- Coordinating marketing efforts and cost-effective strategies. Marketing expenditure is within budget, ensuring that all marketing plans are executed professionally and timeously.
Key performance Indicators/ Key Figures
- Meeting of deadlines in delivery of a comprehensive Marketing Plan.
- Continuous interaction on a daily basis will also ensure delivery of main tasks.
- Results of key marketing initiatives and promotional activities will also be a benchmark of success.
- Employee Development plans done with quality and reviewed on a quarterly basis.
QUALIFICATIONS

Simple Criteria
- R- At least 3 -5 years Sales and Marketing experience in FMCG or a similar industry (Preference for multinational work experience and reporting)
- R- At least 3 years Brand Marketing experience, preferably FMCG
- R- Marketing Degree (3 years)
- R- Computer literacy in MS Office and MS Windows
- R- Excellent presentation skills

- R- Thorough knowledge of classical marketing and be in a position to develop a Marketing Plan from scratch
- R- Basic understanding of ACNielsen or IRI
- R- Be confident in presenting Plans to key customers, internal sales teams in pressurized environments.

- R- Identify new customers and new segments
- R- Exposure managing projects across multiple cultures and functions.
- R- Strong negotiation skills, dealing with varied customers, traditional outlets, and international mass markets.

Previous / Professional Experience
- 3/4 years of Marketing experience in FMCG company.
- Marketing degree / diploma or similar, advanced degree preferred.
