The Role

We're looking for an experienced interim Head of Project Management to lead our PMO and help shape how projects are delivered across the business.

In this role, you'll provide strategic oversight of our project portfolio, making sure the right projects are prioritised, well-governed and delivered successfully. You'll oversee our Innovation (NPD) pipeline as well as wider strategic business projects, giving our Senior Leadership Team the visibility and insight they need to make informed decisions.

This is a fantastic 12 month opportunity for someone who enjoys thinking strategically while still getting involved in the projects that really matter. You'll lead and develop a team of Project Managers, champion best practice and continuously improve the way we deliver projects across the organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead the PMO

  • Lead and develop our Project Management Office, setting the direction for project delivery across the business.
  • Embed consistent project management standards, governance and best practice.
  • Coach and support a team of three Project Managers, building a collaborative, high-performing team.
  • Continuously improve our project management processes, tools and reporting.

Oversee Our Project Portfolio

  • Oversee the company's full portfolio of projects, including our Innovation (NPD) pipeline and strategic business initiatives.
  • Ensure projects are aligned to business priorities, appropriately resourced and progressing as planned.
  • Lead monthly portfolio reviews with the Senior Leadership Team, providing updates on progress, stage gate approvals, risks and resource requirements.
  • Work with leaders across the business to identify and resolve resource constraints, enabling successful project delivery.

Lead Strategic Projects

  • Personally lead selected strategic or business-critical projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Support the wider Project Management team, providing guidance, removing barriers and helping to resolve complex challenges.
  • Facilitate key project meetings and decision points, ensuring plans, risks and dependencies are effectively managed.
  • Build strong relationships across the business, influencing stakeholders and keeping teams aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Influence and challenge constructively when needed to support successful project outcomes.

What We're Looking For

You'll be an experienced project management leader who enjoys bringing people together, solving problems and delivering meaningful change.

You'll ideally have:

  • 8–10 years' project management experience within an FMCG environment.
  • Strong experience delivering New Product Development (NPD) and innovation projects.
  • Experience leading a PMO or managing a varied project portfolio.
  • Previous experience leading and developing Project Managers.
  • A solid understanding of project governance, portfolio management and stage gate processes.
  • A strategic mindset, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the confidence to influence at all levels of the business.
  • The ability to balance competing priorities, navigate ambiguity and remain hands-on when leading key projects.
  • A recognised Project Management qualification (APM PMQ, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience using project management software such as Wrike, Asana, Microsoft Project or similar.
