Each year, International Women’s Day offers an opportunity to recognize the contributions, leadership, and impact of women across BIC World. 

Across our global community of brands and teams, this year’s celebrations brought people together to reflect on progress, amplify women’s voices, and reinforce our commitment to building an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. 

From learning sessions and panel discussions to community moments and team-led initiatives, here’s how BIC teams around the world celebrated International Women’s Day. 

Spotlight on Women’s Voices and Leadership 

Many teams hosted conversations and learning sessions designed to highlight women’s experiences and perspectives in the workplace. 

Across regions, activations focused on awareness, education, and dialogue: 

• Kenya & Nigeria: Virtual sessions aligned to this year’s theme, Give to Gain  
• Ivory Coast: Conference centered on women’s leadership  
• Morocco: Educational session on menstrual health and menopause  
• North America: Women of BIC spotlights and storytelling moments highlighting women across the organization  
• Tangle Teezer: Celebrating their 85% women workforce with a cupcake tower for the team 
• Mexico: Internal awareness campaign, “Let’s Spark Conversations That Matter,” focused on the meaning of March 8th and the history of women’s rights 

These moments created space for reflection, dialogue, and meaningful conversation across teams. 

Moments of Recognition and Connection 

In offices and sites around the world, teams also took time to recognize the contributions of women through thoughtful and inclusive gestures. 

Examples of these moments included: 

• Morocco: Sharing small gifts alongside stories highlighting impactful women  
• Kenya: Post-event gifting following awareness sessions  
• North America: Wear purple activation and local engagement moments across teams in Shelton, Charlotte, and Toronto 
• Tangle Teezer: Recognition as one of Great Place to Work’s Best Workplaces for Women, reflecting commitment to an inclusive and empowering culture 
• Brazil & Argentina: Employee well-being initiative, including a wellness kit in partnership with the Blade Excellence category 
• Across teams: Additional recognition initiatives celebrating women’s contributions  

These efforts reinforced a culture of appreciation — celebrating both individual impact and collective success. 

Community, Connection, and Celebration 

Beyond structured sessions, many teams marked the day by bringing colleagues together in celebration. 

In Nigeria, teams created a vibrant and engaging atmosphere through activities such as office decorations, wearing a dash of purple, games, karaoke, and shared moments like cake and photos. The team also captured the day through video, highlighting the energy and spirit of the celebration. 

Across BIC World, similar moments of connection — whether through informal gatherings or shared experiences — helped strengthen a sense of community and belonging.
