Championing Caregivers and Cultivating a Supportive Culture

At BIC, our commitment to a supportive and caring culture is deeply ingrained in our values. We believe in integrity, fostering an environment where every voice is not only heard but respected and included. This belief is a cornerstone of our Employee Value Proposition: to be part of a team genuinely committed to doing good. Since our founding in 1944, caring for our people has been in our DNA, from comprehensive wellbeing initiatives to our dedication to sustainability and education.

This commitment shines brightly through our initiatives that support our team members and enable them to thrive, such as:

360° Parenthood Program, France

At our global headquarters in Paris, France, Team BIC proudly launched the 360° Parenthood Program, designed to support and recognize the diverse parental responsibilities of our valued team members. Going beyond the phases of childhood care, this program embraces parenthood in all its forms and stages of life. Whether planning to start a family, already navigating the joys of parenthood, or fulfilling the vital role of a caregiver, this program is designed to be a support system for our team members every step of the way.

Caregiver Employee Resource Group (CARE), NA

Provides a vital community, resources, and support for those caring for children, elderly family members, or others. This ERG offers a forum for BIC team members who are caregivers to share common experiences, learn about available resources, and foster a strong sense of community. As Olivia Arnold, VP of Sales and an Executive Sponsor of CARE alongside Chris Dayton, VP of FP&A, explains, "This Caregiver ERG offers a forum for BIC team members who care for children, family members, or other important figures to share common experiences, learn about resources available, and foster a sense of community. This new community will provide a supportive space on a topic that resonates with many across our organization."

To further support our caregiving community, a workshop on the Fair Play Method was recently held for Shelton-based team members. This workshop, led by workplace culture expert Mary Beth Ferrante from WRK/360 and leadership coach Fred Van Riper, host of the podcast “Dads Interrupted,” provided valuable tools and insights.  This workshop is part of BIC’s ongoing learning curriculum, designed to help team members foster a healthy work-life integration and thrive both professionally and personally.
