Dreaming and Acting Together: Celebrating Milestones and Culture in BIC West and Central Africa

At BIC World, we believe that bringing our diverse teams together doesn't just strengthen our professional bonds—it fuels the core values that drive our global impact. Recently, our team in West and Central Africa gathered to celebrate a major milestone, reminding us all of what makes working here so unique.

Action by the Beach

Under the inspiring theme, "Dreaming is not enough, let's act today to build the future", the BIC West and Central Africa team headed to the spectacular Palm Resort in Assinie, Ivory Coast. The objective of this memorable gathering was simple yet powerful: to celebrate a major business milestone while giving our cross-functional teams a space to connect, refresh, and align for the exciting future ahead.

Strengthening Connections Across Distances

One of the greatest successes of the event was its power to bridge distances. Because our team members operate across various locations, many had not previously had the opportunity to meet face-to-face. The Assinie retreat provided an invaluable platform for team members from different departments to collaborate closely, build genuine empathy, and form lasting partnerships.

Our local team culture thrives on its rich diversity. Gathering together in a shared space allowed us to lean into that collective strength, turning our unique perspectives into a cohesive team ready to tackle tomorrow’s challenges.

The emotional high point of the entire event came when the team spontaneously united to create and perform a special, personalized song dedicated to celebrating their General Manager—a beautiful testament to the team’s passion, camaraderie, and joy.

Voices from the Field: The Human Element

Don't just take our word for it. Here is what our team members in the region had to say about the impact of this event:

"Having this event was so important because it allowed us to gather as a team, refresh and reflect on what we did so far, and also dream big for the future together."

- Emmanuel, Associate Manager Supply & Deliver

"It was during the speech of the General Manager where we all felt encouraged and recognized by our leader, and it meant a lot for all the team members."

- Judicaelle,  Executive Assistant
