Spotlight on BIC’s New Saltillo Plant!

Exciting news is on the horizon for BIC as we celebrate a significant milestone – the expansion of our Ramos Arizpe Plant in Saltillo, Mexico!

Last week, Team BIC came together to celebrate the expansion of this new, state-of-the-art facility, which continues to drive BIC’s dedication to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Since its inception in 2009, BIC's Saltillo plant has been on a remarkable journey of growth and innovation. What began as a packing center for shavers has evolved into a thriving hub with expertise in production, packaging, and exporting. The new manufacturing facility will focus on the production of markers and mechanical pencils, further strengthening our ability to meet consumer needs.

With a workforce of nearly 800 team members making their mark, the Saltillo plant has become a cornerstone of BIC's mission to bring simplicity and joy to everyday life. Our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement has driven significant advancements in our operations over time, and the ongoing expansion of the BIC plant underscores our dedication to enhancing operations and empowering growth.

During last week’s grand-opening event, Team BIC was joined by local Mexican officials where Mario Berra, Senior VP of Global Manufacturing, and Lucio Lopes, Factory Director, at BIC each commemorated the event with a speech:

  • “The inauguration of our new plant bolsters BIC's journey in Mexico and in the state of Coahuila: a journey filled with success stories characterized by commitment and unwavering dedication to growth. With the new plant in Ramos Arizpe and our plant in Cuautitlán Izcalli, we envision BIC Mexico becoming the largest BIC producer in the world by 2026, surpassing 3 billion units annually," shared Mario.

  • “We are convinced that Mexico has a high-quality, productive labor force; we believe in Mexican talent and in the quality of the work of our local suppliers. From the beginning, we have been committed to the development of the country and the generation of jobs that contribute to the well-being of hundreds of Mexican families, especially those in the state of Coahuila,” shared Lucio.

We are excited to continue our 15-year journey in Saltillo and look forward to continuing our path of operational success in this new plant.
