Standing Together for Breast Cancer Awareness
At BIC, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is more than a moment on the calendar - it’s a global movement of solidarity, education, and care. Across regions, our teams have embraced this month with meaningful actions that inspire awareness and compassion.
This year also marks an important milestone: BIC leaders proudly signed the Cancer@Work Charter in France, reaffirming our commitment to building a supportive workplace where every team member affected by cancer feels valued and empowered.
This commitment comes to life through the creativity and compassion of our teams worldwide. From wellness workshops to community events, our team members have embraced Breast Cancer Awareness Month in unique and powerful ways:
Empowering Awareness
- France (Clichy & Verberie): Team members participated in a Mega Quiz, self-examination workshops, and awareness campaigns through posters and educational sessions. A mobile mammogram bus provided on-site screenings.
- Romania & Balkans: Teams launched campaigns highlighting breast cancer in men - a rare but often overlooked issue - and promoted mental health awareness through informative materials.
- Greece (BIC Violex): In partnership with Alma Zois, a breast cancer survivor-led NGO, team members attended expert-led sessions on prevention and early diagnosis.
- Mexico & Ecuador: Interactive games like “Breast Cancer Awareness Lotería,” educational infographics, and awareness talks helped spread knowledge in engaging ways.
- East Africa & Dubai: Awareness sessions led by oncologists and medical professionals empowered team members with knowledge and resources.
Expanding Access to Resources
- France: Free mammograms and holistic consultations supported early detection and smoking cessation.
- Tunisia & Nigeria: On-site breast cancer screenings, wellness workshops, and hybrid health talks made preventive care accessible to all.
- Dubai: Team members received vouchers for complimentary tests and participated in desk yoga sessions to support mental health.
- US & Canada: The Women’s Empowerment at BIC (WEB) Employee Resource Group led a virtual health talk and hosted a “Wear Pink Day” to raise awareness. Team members were encouraged to share photos wearing pink, use themed MS Teams backgrounds and LinkedIn banners, and pick up pink ribbons onsite to show solidarity.
Giving Back to the Community
- France: Team members joined the Solidarity Race and contributed to a fundraising campaign through limited-edition BIC® 4 Colours Pink and Blue pens.
- Australia & New Zealand: Teams participated in the Carman’s Fun Run and hosted a Men’s Health Awareness talk in partnership with the Movember Foundation.
- Mexico City: Personalized ribbon pins and weekly “Wear Pink Wednesdays” created a visible show of support.
- U.S. (Tangle Teezer): Continued partnership with the American Cancer Society, including volunteering at Hope Lodge NYC.
Shaping a Culture of Care
Across continents, these initiatives reflect the values close to the heart of our teams. By raising awareness together, we are not only honoring those impacted by breast cancer but also reaffirming our commitment to a workplace rooted in care, inclusion, and action.
