Why I Chose Team BIC: Peter Sodipe's Journey

Opportunities for growth, being part of a global community, the ability to make an impact – these are just three reasons why so many choose to build their careers at BIC. Peter Sodipe, Associate Manager in Financial Planning and Analysis based in Lagos, Nigeria, is one team member whose story reflects these reasons.

Ability to Make an Impact

In August 2022, Peter joined BIC as an Associate Manager of Supply and Import Planning, eager to find a role that would challenge him and allow him to contribute to BIC’s sustained success. “I had the opportunity to create genuine ideas which are relevant for the local market and provided value immediately,” he shares. This immediate impact was something Peter found deeply rewarding. He quickly discovered that at BIC, every member of our team is seen as a valuable contributor to our business's success.

Support at Every Level

When an opportunity in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) opened in Nigeria, Peter was initially hesitant. Transitioning from supply chain to finance felt like a big leap, but the support he received made all the difference. “I don’t think I’ve ever had more support—globally, locally, regionally. It’s amazing,” Peter reflects. With colleagues around the world, his support system extends across the globe from Lagos to Dubai and beyond, giving him the confidence to take on the new challenge, knowing he has a team ready to help.

Personal and Professional Growth

For Peter, growth is about more than just advancing his career—it's about expanding his horizons through collaboration. “I’ve had the chance to work with industry leaders and learn from their insights and experiences. It’s amazing how much my perspective has shifted because of the guidance I’ve received from my managers,” he shares. This exposure to different parts of the business has not only deepened his expertise but also empowered him to contribute across the supply chain and Finance team in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. By stepping into new roles and working alongside diverse teams, Peter has continually grown both personally and professionally, knowing that every new opportunity is a chance to learn and succeed.

Peter’s journey at BIC illustrates how our culture, which is rooted in collaboration and teamwork, enables our team members to thrive. Whether it’s taking on new challenges or working across different functions, taking ownership of your career can lead to both personal and professional growth.
