Job Description:

 

Grinding Tool Maintenance Technician

Main Responsibilities/Tasks:


The Grinding Tool Maintenance Technician will be a member of the Mechanical Maintenance Team of the Blade Industrialization Department, responsible for Blade Machines production & Quality assurance equipment maintenance and construction. Also, he/she is involved in machinery improvements implementation and the preparation of grinding tools (wheels-hones leathers) by planning the necessary tool machines and materials, according to annual blade production plan.
Operate and maintain properly the tooling machines used for grinding wheels-hones-leathers processing.
Provide the grinding production with all the necessary tools at the right quality level.
Propose actions towards the improvement of the grinding tool performance.
Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) meetings and support all the tags which are related to grinding tools.
Purchase all the critical materials for the Blade Grinding process and control the stock of all these materials at regular intervals.
Undertake the construction of new projects assigned by his/her supervisor or project manager.
Is responsible for the execution of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance of the blade equipment.
Diagnose breakdown problems for all production equipment.
Inform Machine Construction Supervisor for drawings shortages and design omissions and/or errors.
Propose improvements for machine operation and performance.
Participate or build instructions related to machinery construction procedures, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Is responsible for the implementation and compliance to the company’s HSE policies and procedures.
Contribute to the process of the new technologies’ induction in his/her area of responsibility.
Take part in various experiments concerning R&D projects, Industrialization, and Improvement Projects.
Is responsible for the adequacy of stored spare parts, suggesting corrective actions

 

Qualifications

 

Technical Institute Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2 years of prior relevant working experience Prior hands-on experience using machining equipment like milling, drilling, lathe, grinding etc.
Certified with minimum license of Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) PC literacy (i.e., MS Office) Ability to work in rolling shifts Fulfilled military service (for male candidates).
Prior experience in machine assembly, installation and commissioning will be appreciated.
Adequate knowledge of English language (both written and verbal).
Prior experience in machine assembly, installation and commissioning will be appreciated.
Basic Knowledge of Hydraulic, Pneumatic & Robotic systems & TPM (Total Production Maintenance).
Knowledge of engineering Design ie. 2D (Autocad) & 3D Software (PTC Creo), will be considered an asset.
