Job Description 

Location: Hybrid, Boston, MA    Full-time

With our first line of products, Rocketbook notebooks and app, we believe that jotting down your notes, sketches, and big ideas should be done naturally by hand. We also believe that you should not have to cut down trees to do it, nor cut out the power of digital. Rocketbook technology, notebooks and app help people write and share ideas while saving the planet. 

The Brand, Innovation and Product Marketer is Head of Marketing, reports directly to the Vice President, General Manager at Rocketbook and is a member of the Rocketbook Leadership Team.  The five overarching purposes for this role and the job responsibilities under each are:  


1. Develop strong insights driven consumer understanding to underpin everything we do and interpret and translate into actionSpecifically, insights on consumer understanding, reasons to believe and path to purchase for a new subcategory with new product solutions to old problems (versus well understood products in mature categories). Responsibilities include: 

  • Track what we know and don’t know about consumers from internal and external sources 
  • Map the gaps in our consumer knowledge and understanding and impediments to conversion 
  • Develop plans for insights/research approaches both internally driven and external contracts 
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and develop marketing strategies to address 
  • Interpret implications from insights and take action 


2. Develop communications, messaging, content and targeting strategies to effectively and time and cost efficiently move target consumers along the path to purchase; specifically the change in beliefs required to consider Rocketbook. Coherent approaches across marketing messaging and instore presentation (both bricks and mortar and on line). Responsibilities include: 

  • Solve for consumer target segments and prioritize for communications 
  • Lead the marketing team in the implementation across social and community management 
  • Lead messaging and content development to address consumer questions on the path to purchase and drive organic search (blogs etc) 
  • Lead eMail marketing for retention and repurchase and acquisition 
  • Seek out sponsorship and affiliate opportunities 
  • Lead the Consumer Customer Service function 
  • Measure messaging, content and brand performance and the effectiveness of marketing spend 


3. Manage the omnichannel sales and distribution channels to drive growth and leverage cross channel impacts to maximize effect including overseeing the digital sales channels, retail sales channels and international channelsResponsibilities include: 

  • Work with the Digital Marketing Leader to develop and implement marketing plans including digital and agency spend and strategies to achieve targets 
  • Work with the Sales Force Retail leaders to develop customer marketing plans to secure and grow distribution and achieve customer and channel targets 
  • Develop and lead the Annual Sales and Marketing plans. Monitor progress and takes action to course correct and adjust 
  • Manage and achieve coherent branding across all channels 


4. Bring consumer perspective and insights to the innovation road map advocating for innovations across physical and digital product improvements through new products, through adjacencies and licensing opportunities. Responsibilities include: 

  • Leadership of the “Make the Numbers” Innovation Road Map for the current year 
  • Shared leadership of the “Build the Future” Innovation Road Map for the next 5 years 
  • Shared leadership of the strategy and innovation projects 


5. Strategic and executional marketing leadership as a leader for Rocket Innovations Inc. Responsibilities include: 

  • Manage and deliver daily, weekly, monthly reporting including performance against targets 
  • Ensure a ‘no surprises’ approach to cross functional integration on sales and marketing plans  with Supply Chain, Product, Sales, Finance and Corporate stakeholders ensuring critical paths are in place that touch your responsibilities. Demonstrate excellence in cross functional team work 
  • Support people development both within the formal processes and in every day management.  
  • Participate in monthly reporting at Rocketbook and Corporate 
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and educate the Leadership Team and participate in BIC COE’s  



  • Bachelor’s Degree required (MBA in Marketing strongly preferred) 
  • 12+ years of experience in consumer facing physical and digital products influenced by fashion, tech and consumer trends essential. Experience in Consumer Goods (preferably the discipline of leading cpg companies), and also Consumer-Tech is preferred. 
  • Experience as Brand Manager including product Innovation and new product introductions is essential. 
  • Insights leadership in start-up environments with new to market solutions and introductions preferred.  
  • Experience finding insights and reframing and changing the approach to messaging and content improving conversion is essential. This experience for a new and novel product and subcategory preferable. 
  • Experience in both digitally driven sales and retail distribution sales models with capability to solve for effectively integrating them in an omni channel tailored to Rocektbook’s challenges is essential. Digital experience should include Amazon Retail Media, SEM/SEO,  and Social. 
  • Experience with marketing and driving growth in an omnichannel model 
  • Experience working with syndicated data (IRI or Nielsen, etc) 
  • Ability to move with speed and agility and excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills 
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
