The Sales Representative is responsible for Independent Grocery accounts for the Queensland business. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure a professional approach while driving sales and distribution growth within a defined region. This role focuses on managing independent grocery stores and supporting the national sales team’s planned activity in Multi-Site-Operators (MSO’s) and Cash and Carry (C&C) type customers.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS

  • Business Development: Effective management of a defined region, covering all agreed outlets at optimum frequencies in a cost effective manner. Source and communicate new business leads to line manager.
  • Budget: Achievement of financial and non-financial targets for designated region.
  • Compliance: Drive execution of agreed and over and above national, state and local promotional opportunities. This incorporates but is not limited to sales drives, sales promotions, key events and display acquisition.
  • Distribution: Increase BIC’s product offer at the point of purchase to by increasing existing or expansion through new products in-line with company objectives.
  • Market Intelligence: Inform customers, both internal and external, of market trends, pricing and new products.
  • Sales Team Support: To support national sales function, attend meetings and deliver both financial and non-financial KPI’s.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential

  • Industry experience in a selling function, primarily FMCG accounts with specific Indies experience;
  • Demonstrates sound financial acumen;
  • Impeccable communication and negotiation skills;
  • Well-presented and highly motivated;
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem solving skills;
  • Highly autonomous and ambitious;
  • Proficient with popular Microsoft applications (specifically excel);and
  • Current driver’s license

 

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications, ideally in business; and
  • Proven success in new business development.
