As Innovation & Portfolio Manager, you support delivering the Global multi-year growth strategies for the Stationery portfolio. This role is responsible for leading Global innovation, portfolio strategy management and architecture, executing brand growth strategies, and managing the day-to-day operations of the business including innovation gate process, business analysis, budgeting, and support key brand initiatives.

 

Global Innovation Leader

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver multi-year animation, renovation and innovation, including identifying consumer insights, coordinating and analyzing market trends and research, partnering with R&D to identify and develop partnerships and technologies, developing packaging and Commercial launch materials.

  • Partners with the Global Brand Development team in the development and global roll out of creative communication campaigns.

  • Supports the Regional Commercial teams go-to-market strategy and execution of aligned innovation launches on the core business and new items.

  • Champions the day-to-day operational function of subbrand and segment you will be responsible for, including innovation gate process management, budget management, invoicing.

  • Monitor the global marketplace for new product innovations, competitive intelligence and key trends (consumer, lifestyle, social, societal insights, macro market trend, emerging technologies…) to identify and develop white space and business opportunities 

 

Global Portfolio Management

  • Collaborate with the Stationery Portfolio & Innovation other Team members as well as Category Strategy to develop / adapt the current Category Growth Strategies to deliver against our Horizon ROCE/Net Sales/Profitability Goals on the 3-year Growth Plan Horizon via the successful management of product life cycles.

  • Provide thought leadership with deep understanding of business growth strategy including market trends, customer unmet needs and opportunity spaces. 

  • Contribute input to the development of the innovation portfolio with market relevance (globally and/or in specific regions) through phased deployments in alignment with marketing, innovation and strategic pricing work including segmentation, value-based pricing, and product life cycle best practices. 

  • Maintain knowledge of the competitive environment for Stationery categories and applications to input into the Innovation Funnel Process. 

  • SKU Rationalization & Product Lifecycle Management: Support, monitor, and recommend product life cycle for the Stationery portfolio. Drives conversation with the business to implement consolidation of the portfolio through product life-cycle management.  This encompasses collaboration with RGM on their annual SKU rationalization of the portfolio and providing a strategic path to move consumers to a new offering within the portfolio where needed.  Additionally, determine which SKUs should be cured and provide a strategic path, leveraging data, to move the item into a healthy position. 

  • Be the subject matter expert on portfolio supply chain and IBP within the Marketing team through collaboration with the Global Supply Chain Team.

  • Create and manage project timelines, working with internal and external partners to gain and maintain strict adherence to project schedules. 

  • Participate in meetings with regional teams to foster strong relationships between global and regional teams and help ensure local needs and initiatives are aligned with global activation plans.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience / MBA preferred

  • Minimum of six years of related work experience

  • Product line and Portfolio management experience with P&L focus I wouldn’t include this part as we are not planning to work o

  • Commercial acumen, experience managing and building customers portfolio 

  • Experience finding profitable solutions for the business

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and influence without authority 

  • Passion for innovation 

  • Global mindset/experience and passion for growth

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to flex between strategic, analytical, and creative thinking, with an open and entrepreneurial mindset

  • Strong presentation builder – able to effectively summarize detailed information into a presentation with clear narrative flow, succinct takeaways and impactful visuals 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – Fluency in English is required
