Job Description
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the industrialization of projects that impact products by driving economic benefits through Value Engineering and overseeing necessary changes via Quality Assurance management (PCR). You will also develop validation plans to ensure that process changes comply with Change Management standards, manage project control and documentation through the PMO platform, and evaluate and monitor the quality standards for outsourced processes affected by these changes. Additionally, you will lead the metrology team to propose measurement solutions for the plant and perform analyses to assess the feasibility and development of cost-saving projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Analyzes and plans each stage of project implementation impacting the products manufactured at the plant, prioritizing and selecting from the proposed portfolio in collaboration with the local Value Engineering project approval committee.
- Monitors and ensures that the timelines provided in the planning phase are met by each responsible party, evaluating and mitigating deviations to achieve the established objectives and schedules.
- Develops plans and strategies for evaluating changes in collaboration with the organization’s functional areas, including safety, quality assurance, planning, scheduling, production, and laboratories.
- Identifies and proposes multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and mitigate the inherent risks of projects and tasks to be executed.
- Documents changes in product specifications and drawings in collaboration with local and global technical areas (CoreTech, BIC Tech, Engineering, and Quality).
- Takes actions to meet the position’s KPIs, manages staff administration and performance evaluation, and controls required overtime.
- Audits and monitors the quality of service provided by BIC Plant 1 subcontractors.
- Uses statistical tools to analyze the feasibility of projects and their impact on the process, while sharing results across the organization.
Projects You’ll Work On:
- Analyze new project ideas within your scope to communicate them to the committee and evaluate their feasibility, keeping the entire organization informed about new projects and their scope.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks of non-compliance in a project by analyzing and implementing the necessary measures agreed upon with process owners (stakeholders).
- Monitor and implement the actions required to meet business indicators and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate the technical characteristics of raw materials and components subject to changes in projects under your responsibility to ensure the quality of the finished product after completing BIC’s defined Change Management procedure.
- Coordinate the activities of the metrology team and quality technicians to assess subcontractors through audits and contribute to Change Management evaluations.
- Use statistical tools to support decisions and calculate the impacts of ongoing projects.
- Ensure compliance with KPIs established by the Plant Management and Quality Assurance Management.
What We’re Looking For In You:
- Completed studies in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in Quality Management Systems within multinational mass production industries.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001
- Advanced project management (PMI or Black Belt)
- NOM standards related to writing instruments.
- Methodical, analytical, with strategic thinking and effective communication.
- Results-oriented and data-driven.
- Advanced knowledge of metrology.
- Proven experience leading more than four quality projects.
- Extensive expertise in pre-industrialization and industrialization.
- Experience leading teams under your supervision.
- Advanced statistical knowledge (Analysis of Variance, Chi-Square, Student's T-Test, etc.).
- Advanced Level of English - MUST
