The purpose of the Digital and E-Commerce Manager is to be the expert on all technical aspects of social media management and to develop and implement the right SEO and SEM strategies in conjunction with the relevant agency. Takes ownership of the BIC SA website working collaboratively with the SA Marketing team, Creative Agencies and Global IT to ensure the delivery of a world class website.  Collaboration with the SA Marketing team deliver all Digital Strategies across Categories.  Plays a supporting role to the East Africa Marketing team on digital and e-commerce where relevant.

Works with the Key Account team to build relationships with the Pure Players such as Takealot and Amazon, to ensure that all technical aspects are correct and to develop and implement strategies to leverage the BIC brand through creating awareness and engagement on these platforms.  Works in collaboration with the Key Account team to develop e-commerce strategies for Omni Channels that are cost effective, impactful and deliver sales growth.






Digital (Social Media (Meta) | BIC SA Website)


  • Collaborate with the Marketing team and relevant digital agencies on all campaigns ensuring that objectives are met for both social media metrics and e-commerce objectives.
  • Manage the SEO and SEM partner FGX.
  • Manage the digital and e-commerce budgets ensuring that the delivery of the KPI’s per category.
  • Build and develop a relationship with the media partner (PHD) to maximize budget to achieve key metrics.
  • Manage all digital reporting internally and with MEA.
  • Work and Collaborate with the Regional Digital Manager to ensure delivery of key digital and e-commerce metric.
  • Represent both SA and EA in all Digital and COE forums.
  • Manage the digital asset library by Category, both locally (Silo) and what is globally available and relevant through the business tools such as DAL | PIMs.
  • Lead and roll out the relevant global and regional e-commerce strategies and tools within SA.



Retailer E-Commerce Strategy


  • Develop and implement an e-commerce strategy across retailers that have an online platform by category in collaboration with the relevant KAM.
  • Implement, manage, and drive SPARC implementation across accounts and categories where relevant.
  • Collaboration and alignment with the Key Account Team to implement strategies that are developed for in-store execution and that can be implemented on e-commerce.
  • Deliver BIC’s e-commerce goals and objective by account by category.
  • Deliver Sales objective by retailer for E-Commerce.
  • Explore and find new e-commerce channels that will deliver business objectives across categories.
  • Continually explore and find new opportunities to drive digital communication across retailer and Pure Player platforms.



Additionnal Responsabilites


  • Present and participate in the quarterly Sales and Marketing meetings.
  • Manage Silo ensuring that all images and data basis are kept up to date for all categories.
  • Help and assist the broader team where relevant in the development of internal communication.
  • Key admin on the BIC Business WhatsApp group.



Key performance Indicators


  • Continuous communication and collaboration with relevant stakeholders (Key Accounts | Marketing | MEA).
  • Delivery of all key KPI’s for digital and e-commerce by category.
  • On time delivery and implementation of all e-commerce and digital campaigns.
  • Implementation, management, and performance of SPARC.
  • Sales performance by retailer and pure player on e-commerce platform for all categories.
  • Development and management of the e-commerce strategy in collaboration with the Marketing Director and Key Account Manager.
  • Management of Silo.





Knowledge, Skills, Competencies

Simple Criteria


  •              R- 2-3 years of experience in a related role.
  •              R- University degree in communications and marketing.
  •              R- Social Media Implementation
