JOB SUMMARY
The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and meets quality standards. The Millwright will play a key role in minimizing downtime, optimizing machine performance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the role involves maintaining safety compliance, documenting maintenance activities, and collaborating with other team members to drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in both mechanical and electrical, particularly with automated machinery, and possess strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and improve processes.

PREVIOUS/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/ ADDITIONAL SKILLS & DETAILS
- Formal PLC training – must be able to understand, read, diagnose, and program PLC’s (Preferably OMRON), PLC experience is a must.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
CANDIDATE PROFILE: QUALIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Red Seal Millwright (minimum 2 years post Trade qualifications).
- National Senior Certificate N4 or higher (Mechanical or electrical).
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with specific knowledge of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, machine manuals, and schematics.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment specific to manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Good English communication.
- Computer literate - Microsoft Office, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
