JOB SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Officer is responsible for operating all types of equipment - including, but not limited to, forklifts and RF Scanners – for the purpose of performing various duties such as picking and packing orders, receiving goods and maintaining inventory with direction from the Leading Hand and line manager.
This is roles requires detail-oriented problem solvers who can think quantitatively and notice defects and errors quickly. When problems arise, they must be able to act quickly and decisively. This role requires working as a team member with a wide variety of people in the supply chain internally & externally.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS
Pick Orders
- Accurate picking of customer orders and processing them by completing any required paperwork
- Locating items in the warehouse, moving them to the processing and shipping area and scanning their barcode
- Retain knowledge of account requirements to prevent the occurrence of compliance failures
Pack Orders
- Packing customer orders and prepare them to be shipped
- Inspect the items to ensure that they’re not damaged or missing any parts, package them according to specifications and transport them carefully to dispatch area
- Complete necessary paperwork and update relevant systems i.e.; WMS / freight portal
Receive Goods
- Receive goods delivered to the warehouse for storage
- Unload the products from trucks and shipping containers
- Check to ensure the receipt matches the delivery documents such as the bill of lading, shipping invoice or delivery note
- Verify that the goods are intact and report any defects to the line manager
- Complete necessary paperwork and update relevant systems i.e.; WMS
Maintain Inventory
- Utilize RF equipment, accurate/damage-free movement of pallets and cases from reserve and forward pick locations in accordance with production standards
- Maintain warehouse inventory by arranging boxes and storing in a way they won’t be damaged
- Perform duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling operations and sorting.
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
- Report any discrepancies to the line manager
- Move product and inventory using a forklift
Administrative Duties
- Basic systems data entry & inquiry
Safety and Quality
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the line manager
- Execute and document quality inspections per SOP
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
- Use warehouse equipment/tools safely and in accordance with established procedures
- Report any unsafe conditions/equipment or injury to warehouse Supervisors
- Report any suggestions which may increase efficiency or productivity to warehouse supervisors
- Understands and follows the system designated direction by RF Scanners to ensure accurate selection and movement of product
Requirements
Essential

- High School / Senior Secondary School Certificate of Education
- Basic level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to use various software including Excel & Word, Outlook (Email).
- Ability to use local and global software Supply Chain programs i.e.; WMS
Desirable

- Familiarity with shipping software
Work Environment

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- The employee may be exposed to high places.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 16 kg.
