Job Description
This position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all salaried employee payroll (about 2,000 employees) on a weekly and bi-weekly basis in Mexico.
Processing includes regular payroll, incentive annuals, stock options and vesting, and all transactions that require expatriate/inpatriate processing, merit increase and retroactive cycles, and all intermittent pay. Hypothetical ongoing tax scenarios, relocation processing, and year-end adjustments. Manage employee and employer account reconciliations on an ongoing basis, working with business partners to ensure timely and accurate reconciliations.
This position will also oversee the processing of all weekly manufacturing payroll, be the primary support to process weekly & quarterly issues when needed, approve all taxes/cash financing, and handle day-to-day processing requirements. This position provides a vital role in the company to ensure that employees are paid on time to meet federal and state compliance requirements. Additionally, this position will review current payroll processing practices and initiate automations for overall processing efficiencies. You will participate in special projects and system upgrades as needed
Facilitates audit requests by providing records and documentation to auditors. Team member for all system implementations/upgrades.
What You’ll Do:

Payroll Processing & Compliance:

Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for corporate and plant employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.

Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws, tax regulations, and social security requirements.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll-related regulations and implement necessary changes.

Coordinate with finance and HR teams to ensure proper payroll accounting, reporting, and audits.

Team Leadership & Vendor Management:

Lead and develop the payroll team, ensuring high performance and continuous learning.

Manage relationships with payroll service providers, ensuring high service levels and cost efficiency.

Act as the key point of contact for internal and external audits related to payroll.

Process Improvement & Technology Optimization:

Identify and implement payroll process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Leverage payroll systems and technology to optimize automation and reporting capabilities.

Ensure payroll-related data integrity and maintain accurate employee records.

Employee Support & Reporting:

Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues for employees in a timely manner.

Provide regular payroll reports to HR, Finance, and senior leadership.

Support HR with compensation-related data and analysis.

Projects You’ll Work On:
- Coordinating the processing of employee information and pay data, which entails working with other teams to ensure information relating to employee changes and payments are submitted to pay employees timely and accurately. Hitting set deadlines for processing/reconciliations and ensuring all related work is completed to meet those deadlines.
- Handling the complicated processing of LTI & Inpat/Expat taxation transactions, annual bonus payout (including deferred compensation), and staying on top of all taxation setups/inquiries.
- This position has full decision-making authority on a day-to-day basis to make decisions regarding payroll and taxation processing across all payroll processing’s, including top executives and inpat/expat employees.
- This position is responsible for providing knowledge of all payroll, tax and general ledger processing in order to follow all federal compliance requirements and Finance team submissions.
- This position would defer final decision-making authority regarding complex company-wide processing/enhancements/system upgrades/taxation or anything that would impact a large # of the employee population to the Payroll Manager.
What We’re Looking For In You:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, human resources or related
- 10 years related Payroll experience as a minimum, including supervisory experience, preferably in a multinational manufacturing environment.
- Experience in handling complex executive compensation payments & taxation
- Extensive knowledge of payroll processing, compliance requirements, taxation, solid decision making, attention to detail and ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment dealing with highly sensitive and confidential material. Ability to use knowledge to explain and resolve complex situations.
- Knowledge of SF, payroll processing and experienced in Payroll systems integrations.
- Desired experience in Setting up payroll in flexible benefits.
- Advance English - MUST
- Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
