Mechanical Engineer (Onsite)

 

Duties: Design, build and test high volume equipment for the BIC lighters product category. Interface with machine shops and vendors and order parts for fabrication. Order and specify commercial parts. Oversee assembly, correct any assembly issues, and manage the installation of the equipment.  Work with quality department to make sure that the equipment produces products or subassemblies meet internal and ISO standards. Responsible for functioning support and maintenance of running manufacturing equipment. Oversee bench testing of assembly equipment and stations to ensure quality and performance specifications are met. Document and create animation of the manufacturing equipment designed using Creo Parametric Illustrate software for training and setup reference in the manufacturing environment.

 

Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Robotics Engineering or related field of study, and 3 years of experience as Mechanical Engineer. Will accept Master’s degree and 1 year of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience. Experience specified must include 3 years of experience (or 1 year of experience if Master’s degree) with each of the following: project management; complex problem solving and debugging of four bar linkage equipment with multiple degrees of freedom motion; 3D CAD and Windchill database management of technical documentation; utilizing Geometric tolerancing for high precision components; utilizing material science as it relates to high-tech coatings and material selection for metallic components; dealing with a controlled and federal regulated assembly processes to ensure product safety, plant safety and operator safety; debugging and designing high speed packaging and inspection; and Pro Engineer module Illustrate with regard to the animation of automated mechanisms.
