The Assistant brand manager/ Brand Manager reports to the Japan marketing manager and manages the marketing plan and execution in certain areas/scopes. This position is to manage a holistic marketing plan, such as brand positioning, products/portfolio, promotion, and pricing to enhance both sell-in and sell-out.
Responsibilities (Scope area with category/products will be discussed and decided based on one’s background and capabilities):
- Brand/ Category building for sustainable brand development
- Business planning/Portfolio management for short and long term
- New product launch plan/execution with trade tools and trade/consumer promotion including internal (local/global) process management.
- Consumer accident/complaint handling in an appropriate manner
- Create a clear brief for the agencies, and manage any projects (inc consumer research) and promotions to meet all requirements, such as designs, tools, cost, and timeline.
- Plan and execute short-term brand plan aligned with sales to achieve the sales budget.
- Visit customers to propose any promotions with the sales force.
- Analysis of the key trade customers(inc E-COM channel) and prioritize investment plan to deliver the most effective outcomes.
- Monthly report, including financial statements and competitive activities monitoring in the market.
- Manage E-COM related tasks (inc registration of products)
- Manage Trade shows (about 2 times per year) and their preparation
- Develop POSMs based on promotion/New launch/ customer requests
- Consumer-requested action (e.g. Delivery/Shipment of products)
- Budget management (including purchase order and invoice process) followed by prioritized actions to enhance the investment efficiency
Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in Business or Marketing
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the consumer goods/food & beverages sector
- Business-level English and fluent Japanese
- Proficient with MS Office suite - PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Data-oriented with good project management skills
